2017 Emerald Gems 3rd Annual U.S.V.I. Youth Basketball Camps
CAMP DIRECTOR MILTON NEWTON
Proud native of St. Thomas U.S.V.I., former NBA front office executive and Co-Founder of Emerald Gems Foundation, Inc., will be conducting their 3rd annual free instructional and development basketball camp. He worked for the NBA for 20 years with expertise in management, administration and identifying talent. He also develops talent as a personal trainer for NBA players. In addition, he played for the University of Kansas and won the 1988 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship.
Campers will work on new innovative skill techniques and drills designed to improve their game and basketball knowledge. They will also compete in 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games, in addition to shooting and skill competitions. NBA personnel will instruct the campers.
CAMP DETAILS
- For Ages 8-13: Tuesday, August 1st & Wednesday, August 2nd
- For Ages 14-17: Thursday, August 3rd & Friday, August 4th
- Camp Time: 9:00am-3:00pm (FOR ALL DAYS)
- Registration Deadline: Wednesday, May 31, 2017
- Cost: FREE
- Location: Ivanna Eudora Kean High School
ADDITIONAL CAMP INFORMATION
- For Ages 8-13: First come, first served for up to 50 camp spots.
- For Ages 14-17: Up to 50 campers will be selected based upon their skill level. Local coaches will assist with the selection process. Must complete a Registration Form to be considered.
- Refreshments: Lunch, Gatorade and water will be provided
- Please Note: If your child secures a camp spot, you will receive a confirmation email within a week of your submission.
